A little bit less aero should help the Jesko Absolut reach mind boggling speeds.
It is only pre-production, but the Swedish automaker has finally delivered the Jesko Absolut test car to the world, ready to take on its duties as a pre-production pioneer. The latest Koenigsegg is rumoured to be capable of reaching 532+ km/h so it will expectedly be put through its paces in a rigorous testing program.
A little bit less aero should help the Jesko Absolut reach mind boggling speeds.
An eternity ago, in March 2019, Koenigsegg debuted the speed-focused Jesko Absolut. In the space of three years, the face of the world has changed but the Swedish hypercar’s purpose has not. Built to be the fastest production car of all time, the new Jesko Absolut test car will put the theoretical top speed of 532+ km/h to test in a regimented program set out by Koenigsegg. For context, the typical cruising airspeed for a long-distance commercial passenger aircraft is around 900 km/h.
How does it achieve this you may ask? Well the newcomer employs the same twin-turbocharged 5-litre V8 coupled to a nine-speed transmission from its base Jesko sibling. This allows it to push out 1,193 kW and 1,500 N.m using E85 fuel but the real changes have made the Swede more slippery to the air around it. Aerodynamic changes which reduce the drag enable the hypercar to be pierced through the air using relatively little energy.

Koenigsegg Test Driver Markus Lundh stated: “We’ve streamlined this car from not just an aerodynamic and design perspective, but also from a high-speed stability perspective. As a result, the Jesko Absolut has a phenomenally low drag of only 0.278 Cd.”
This is a masterpiece we are just going to have to sit back and enjoy since Christian von Koenigsegg has stated that it will be the fastest car Koenigsegg will ever build, now or in the future. The current speed record for a production car is the SSC Tuatara which managed 508 km/h after dethroning the Koenigsegg Agera RS.
