Well, well, well…what do we have here. After a
patent drawing leak
, it looks like someone leaked out photos of the actual 2023 Honda CR-V.
The source is unlikely as it comes from China where the CR-V is currently being homologated for the market there. Still, this will likely be the global model which is set to make its debut sometime this year.
From the leaks, the CR-V gains a more upright front end with long, slim LED headlights and a hexagonal grille that doesn’t look that different from the
all-new BR-V
. The bumpers also seem to gain L-shaped elements which look to integrate the front fog lights.
Towards the back, the 2023 CR-V has an equally more squarish and upright rear-end. The L-shaped taillights—a trademark of the current CR-V has been retained but has been given a more angular cut ala the Volvo XC60. Oh, and dare we say it, the cluster themselves look to have the same lighting pattern as the
refreshed CX-5
. Finally, the tailpipes now feature squared off finishers and look to be integrated into the rear bumper.
So far, Honda hasn’t given word on what sort of powertrains will power the all-new CR-V, but it’s very likely that it’ll keep its turbocharged 1.5-liter engine good for around 193 horsepower and 243 Nm of torque. The carmaker though confirmed that will gain the e:HEV hybrid powertrain. If it is the same one seen in the
all-new Civic
, it will be enough for 184 horsepower and 315 Nm of torque.
