We list the estimated servicing and maintenance costs of a Ford EcoSport and some of its main competitors to find out whether the Ford is expensive, fair or affordable to maintain.
The EcoSport moniker has been part of Ford’s product range since 2012 and, as a result, has built a good reputation for itself. The crossover model is currently available in nine derivatives, ranging from the basic but practical Ambiente, all the way to the comprehensive Titanium variants. Regardless of the derivative, the EcoSport comes with a 4-year / 120 000km warranty and an optional service plan can be purchased which consists of 4-year / 60 000 km.
But what happens when the warranty and service plan expires and you need to carry the cost of servicing and maintenance out of pocket? In this article, we will be looking at the estimated cost of servicing and maintenance of a Ford EcoSport as well as some of its competitors to find out if it is expensive.
Service
Servicing a vehicle is integral to its longevity and efficiency. Having fresh oil and some new filters will also marginally increase the vehicle’s performance. The most recent parts pricing that is accurate that we could find is from the 2020 AA Kinsey report available here. Note, that the pricing could have changed at any time and without notice since then and does not include the labour costs, however, this will serve as a good estimate of the cost of servicing a Ford EcoSport.

Verdict
When compared to vehicles competing in the same segment and selling for around the same price, the Ford EcoSport falls in between the Citroen and Hyundai when it comes to servicing costs, with the Hyundai being more expensive and the Citroen more affordable.
However, interestingly, the trend changes with the maintenance costs, where the EcoSport is the most expensive to maintain out of the three, however, by a small margin. The Citroen here remains the most affordable option. The conclusion is that the Ford EcoSport is not particularly expensive to maintain for its segment, however, there are more affordable options available.
