The 2022 Ford Mustang Mach-e is one of the best electric SUVs you can buy. It’s got a decent range, a really nice interior, and updated technology. Add to that the fact that the Mustang Mach-e is pretty affordable – it’s just $46,695 for the base model, the Select – and you’ve got an SUV that is seriously worth considering. So is the 2022 Ford Mustang Mach-e worth it, or should you spend your money elsewhere?

Is the Ford Mustang Mach-e a good SUV?

Yes, the 2022 Ford Mustang Mach-e is a good SUV. It has good safety ratings from the IIHS. It’s got an engine that can get up to 230 miles of range and makes 266 hp and 317 lb-ft of torque. Opt for all-wheel drive and you’ll lose some range, getting 211 miles. However, you’ll gain torque, getting 428 lb-ft.

The 2022 Mustang Mach-e is such a good electric SUV that U.S. News says that “it’s one of the first vehicles to truly rival a Tesla.” In addition to its impressive horsepower and torque, the Mach-e accelerates well and handles daily driving and epic road trips with ease. It’s easy to drive and its one-pedal driving mode makes a longer commute a breeze.

How fast is the Mach-e?

If the 2022 Ford Mustang Mach-e is one thing, it’s fast. It’s possibly the one trait that this electric SUV shares with its namesake. The 2022 Mach-e can go from 0 to 60 in 6.1 seconds – and that’s for the slowest model. The faster ones can get to 60 in anywhere between five and six seconds. In fact, the GT gets from 0 to 60 in 3.8 seconds and the .and GT Performance can do it in 3.5 seconds.

Of course, upgrading to the 2022 Ford Mustang Mach-e GT will cost you. Its price starts at $61,095. And the GT Performance is even pricier, starting at $67,995.

When can I buy a Mach-e?

Right now the Ford website shows delivery 20 plus weeks after you order the 2022 Ford Mustang Mach-e. Well, that’s if you order the Select or California Route 1. Go for the Mach-e Premium or GT, and it will be at least 28 weeks.

That means that if you order the Select on January 25, 2022, you won’t see your Mach-e until at least June 14th. And the Premium and GT won’t make their way to your driveway until August 9, 2022. Why the delay? There’s a global chip shortage that’s causing production delays at all car manufacturers, and wreaking havoc on the auto industry in general. Even if you decide you don’t want to wait for a 2022 Mach-e, you may not find anything else you like as much at a reasonable price much sooner than that.

Is the 2022 Ford Mustang Mach-e worth it? It definitely is. It’s got a solid engine, it’s fast, and it’s reasonably affordable. Now, whether you can actually buy one within a timeframe that works for you may be another story, but it isn’t Mach-e specific.
