This CR could become the most valuable S2000 on the planet.
Bring a Trailer
Honda S2000s are steadily appreciating in value, so when a clean example like this one pops up for sale on auction site Bring a Trailer, you know it’s going to sell for big money. This one is an especially rare example because it’s a limited-run CR (Club Racer) with ultra-low miles. Moreover, it’s being sold by IndyCar driver and Daytona 24 winner Graham Rahal. We wouldn’t be surprised if this car becomes the most valuable S2000 on the planet.
Just 700 S2000 CRs were sold by Honda, making them incredibly hard to come by. They’ve gone from $30,000 cars to six-figure collectibles in the past five years thanks to their rarity and suite of track-focused upgrades. CR models got their own wheel design, a quicker steering rack, stiffer suspension, reworked aero, more chassis bracing, and a one-piece removable hardtop roof.
This one, finished in yellow over black Alcantara and cloth, has an astounding 123 miles on the clock, and it certainly looks the part. The body panels and roof piece look to be in perfect condition, and the interior is in great shape too. The engine bay and underside of the car look like they’ve never been touched by the outside world—not surprising considering this car has driven an average of 8.7 miles per year since its original delivery in 2008.
Currently, the title of most valuable S2000 in the world is held by a similarly specced CR that sold for $122,500 on Bring a Trailer back in February 2022. But that car had 5500 miles on the clock at the time of its sale. Rahal’s CR, has already been bid up to $111,111 at the time of this writing, with three days remaining to bid.
This isn’t the first time Rahal has moved an S2000 on the Bring a Trailer platform. The six-time IndyCar race winner bought an ultra-clean 2000 S2000 finished in red with 1000 miles on the clock for $48,000 back in 2018. The next year, he sold a 91-mile example on the auction platform for $70,000.
