Compact SUVs are gaining huge popularity in the Indian market for their practicality, better road presence, feature-rich cabin and high ground clearance. While we have a long list of compact SUVs on sale in India including the Maruti Brezza, Mahindra XUV300, Kia Sonet, Nissan Magnite, and the Renault Kiger, the Tata Nexon and the Hyundai Venue dominate the segment with their all-round and loaded packages. Here is a detailed Hyundai Venue vs Tata Nexon comparison which will help you understand which of the two SUVs are truly worth their price.
Hyundai Venue Vs Tata Nexon Price And Variants
Both, the Tata Nexon as well as the Hyundai Venue are offered with both petrol as well as diesel engine options with most of the trim options and are priced from ₹7.99 lakh and ₹7.76 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) respectively. Having said this, while six variants of the Venue are on sale today, the Nexon is available in more than 30 different trim options.

Hyundai Venue Vs Tata Nexon – Engine, Gearbox, and Performance
Under the hood, the new Hyundai Venue is offered with three engine options –1.2L MPi naturally aspirated petrol, 1.0L GDi turbo petrol engine, and 1.5L CRDi turbo diesel engine. As far as power and specifications are concerned, the 1.2L NA petrol delivers 81.8 bhp as against 118 bhp delivered by the turbo petrol engine and 115 bhp churned out by the diesel motor. It is worth noting that while the 1.2L Petrol and 1.5L diesel are only offered with a manual gearbox option, the 1.0L turbo petrol on the other hand is offered with three different transmission options which include a 6-speed manual, intelligent manual and 7-speed DCT gearbox.
The Nexon is offered with two engine options: 1.2L Turbo petrol and 1.5L turbo diesel. The petrol engine delivers 123 bhp and 170 Nm of maximum torque while the diesel engine is capable of delivering 124 bhp and 260 Nm of peak torque. Both these engine options are offered either with a 6-speed manual or an automatic gearbox.
Having said this, both the cars offer a similar driving experience but it is the Nexon which has a slight edge over the Venue with its better ride-handling balance and high-speed dynamics. The Venue N-Line however can be a great choice for those enthusiasts who are looking for a more direct steering and stiffer suspension setup resulting in sharper handling around the corners.
The Hyundai Venue also outshines the Nexon in terms of overall refinement and all three engine options are well appreciated for their smoothness and NVH levels. In all, picking one of the two cars in terms of overall performance and dynamics is difficult and the buyers will not notice any major difference in terms of the in-cabin comfort or driving experience.

Design And Dimensions
The new Hyundai Venue received a number of changes with the launch of the facelift model in the Indian market. For starters, the Hyundai SUVs boasts a bold front fascia which is dominated by a large front grille that might remind you of the Hyundai Palisade. In addition to this, the Venue is also offered with features like LED projector lights, dual-cut alloy wheels, 16-inch dual-cut alloy wheels, new LED taillights and sharp character lines on the body panels, giving it a premium and modern look.
The Nexon on the other hand boasts conventional SUV design language and command and looks distinctive on the roads, all thanks to its sloping roofline, quirky rear profile, high ground clearance, and muscular front fascia. The SUV also boasts a dual-barrel headlight setup with projectors for the low beam, and diamond-cut alloy wheels. The Nexon not only offers better build quality but is also one of the safest cars in India in 2023.

Hyundai Venue Vs Tata Nexon Interiors And Features
Hyundai cars are always loved for their premium and high-quality cabin and the 2023 Venue is no different. In addition to an extensive features list, the Hyundai Venue also boasts segment-best fit-finish levels and a great in-cabin experience. Likewise, the seats are comfortable and accommodating. On the features front, the Venue gets a large electric sunroof, digital instrument console, wireless charger, cooled storage console, push-button start, and more.
The Tata Nexon and the Hyundai Venue are neck and neck when it comes to the availability of features inside the cabin or the in-cabin experience for the occupants. While the Nexon may not boast as good fit-finish levels or the quality of plastics used inside the cabin, it does offer a more comfortable and accommodating rear seat, making it more practical for many of the buyers. Likewise, the Nexon, with its better safety levels, is also a better choice for those who prefer safety over features.
