Power sport
The Ford EcoSport remains a solid choice for those seeking a city car that can double up as a weekend adventure mobile. It is now in its second generation and has had a number of facelifts since its global introduction in 2012.
With many of these crossovers now available on the second-hand market you may be tempted to snap one up for yourself but you should be aware that the vehicle battery may need to be replaced. This is not a problem though as replacing it is a simple task that you can tackle on your own.
You will need:
- Replacement battery of correct amperage and frame size
- 10mm wrench
Let’s get it done
1. Open the bonnet
2. Locate the battery
3. Remove the enclosed ECU box using the 10mm wrench to access the terminals and hold down clamp
4. Using the 10mm again, remove the hold down clamp
5. Use the 10mm to remove the negative battery terminal
6. Use the 10mm to remove the positive battery terminal
7. Exchange battery
8. Reassemble in reverse order
