Premium SUVs have many features that elevate the driving experience but if your car battery is low on charge these features may no longer work correctly and you will need to replace your battery.
Charged and Ready
BAIC is not a newcomer to the South African market having had models such as the D20, X25 and B40 Plus on sale for a few years now. BAIC has decided to take on a new tack as the D20 and X25 have been discontinued, and a new kid will be joining the ranks.
The Beijing X55 is the new premium mid-size SUV from the Chinese manufacturer that is packed with tech features and gadgetry that all needs a decent battery charge to keep everything working at peak performance. If any of the features begin to have issues, you may be in need of a new battery, and we can show you how to replace yours in just a few easy steps.
You will need:
- 10mm spanner or 10mm socket and socket wrench
- 13mm socket, extension and ratchet
- New battery (correct size and amperage for your model)
Let’s get it done!
1. Open the bonnet
2. Locate the battery on passenger side.
3. Using the 10mm of your choice remove the negative terminal.
4. Remove the positive terminal
5. Remove the hold down bracket
6. Remove the battery
7. Install new battery
8. Install everything in reverse order
Pro Tip: Use a memory saver that plugs into your 12v port to save the settings on your car’s infotainment.
Due to the complex electrical nature of the X55’s infotainment and vehicle control systems you may need to reset the battery charge control systems through tech vehicle settings in tech infotainment.
