The 208 is one of Europes best selling city cars and they are easier to work on than you think!. In this step-by-step guide, we show you how to easily replace a headlight bulb on a Peugeot 208.
Bright lights
Newer style LED headlights do have a longer lifespan than cheaper Halogen units but many cars just like the Peugeot 208 still make use of these style bulbs. You can expect your halogen bulbs to last at least a few years but you will eventually need to replace them as they burn out.
It is a relatively easy task to perform and you can do it right in your driveway in a few minutes without any tools needed.
You will need:
- New bulbs for your year model
- Soft cloth
Let’s get it done!
1. Open the bonnet.
2. Locate the plastic caps at the rear of the headlight assembly.
3. Remove the cap by pulling it off.
4. Remove the electrical plug.
5. Remove the hold-down clip.
6. Remove the old bulb.
7. Install the new bulb.
8. Replace the clip and electrical plug.
9. Replace cap.
10. Test that the bulbs are working correctly.
PRO TIP: DO NOT touch the glass area on the new bulbs as oils on your skin can contaminate the glass. If you do touch the glass make sure to wipe it down with a soft cloth before fully installing the globe.
If you are replacing one globe you may as well replace the other as side as well as the lifespans of the bulbs are more or less the same.
