Being a celebrity isn't only about what films or TV shows you're in, or who you're dating. It's also about the cool cars they keep.
The perks of buying a car new are exactly what you’d expect. You can spec every detail in the car and as a result of that, you know what you’re getting. No other person has ever owned it, and you get the benefits of a full warranty and in some cases, manufacturers even throw in free servicing.
Unfortunately your family Toyota RAV4 will just not do if you want to make a splash in Tinsel Town
The allure of classic cars is hard to beat though.
Even celebrities, who can afford new, more costly cars, are drawn to old school pieces of metal. Some vintage cars are expensive and exclusive, and we’ve dug up a few from our classifieds.
From classic muscle cars to rugged vintage trucks and speedsters, in this list, you’ll find a bit of everything. Browse through and discover who drives what and whether you’re keen to emulate their purchase.
1963 Chevrolet Corvette – Robert Downey Jr.

The second-generation Chevrolet Corvette is America’s favourite sports car and Robert Downey Jr’s preferred way of getting from point A to point B. You may need an Iron Man suit to go with it but we found a 1963 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray in Ermine White and in its original left-hand drive set up, so you can remain true to your inner Robert Downey Jr.
1971 Chevrolet El Camino – Lady Gaga
Lady Gaga’s car collection is anything but shallow. She is a triple threat in the music industry and her taste in cars is equally as diverse as her talents. This all-black El Camino pickup is as humble as American pie and it’s also one of the fastest too.
Gaga had hers modified by deleting both the door handles and all the badging, so it looks really tough and inconspicuous. We must admit that we went a little Gaga over the 1971 Chevrolet El Camino we found in our classifieds as it carries a sweet 383 Stroker V8 engine, custom interior and choice of custom 20” Chip Foose Wheels as well as a set of unique Boyd Coddington rims. The only thing you’ll have to do if you want to get to Lady Gaga’s status is delete the handles and respray it gloss black!
1967 Chevrolet Camaro SS – Kendall Jenner
Everyone remembers their first car, even if it wasn’t a desirable or memorable one. As teenagers, most of us were just happy to have four wheels and a licence. Kendall Jenner’s ticket to freedom? A classic Chevrolet SS Camaro for her provisional pass.

We found a hardtop in our classifieds backed by a Chevy 327 V8 and a freshly retrimmed interior. Not a bad way to go if you want to have a shared experience with Kendall Jenner.
1974 Ford Falcon XB coupe – Eric Bana
Eric Bana not only starred in the Time Traveler’s Wife, but he also enjoys travelling in old cars too.
This 1974 Ford Falcon XB coupe was Eric Bana’s first car and although a lot has changed since he got his licence, the XB is his one constant.
The Aussie muscle car fondly known as ‘The Beast,’ was sadly totalled in a crash at the relentless and breathtaking Targa Tasmania tour in 2007. Logan Valley Smash Repairs and ex-Ford Performance racing mechanic Brad Nankervis took on the job of bringing the ‘beast’ back to life.
You can share Bana’s passion for keeping Aussie muscle cars competitive and on the roads by buying into a $188,000 ticket to Targa Tasmania with this three owner 1974 Ford Falcon XB GT 351 coupe from our classifieds.
1959 Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud II – Beyoncé
Beyoncé ditched the chauffeur who would’ve usually piloted one of these cars back in the day to get behind the wheel of her very own Rolls-Royce 1959 Silver Cloud II convertible. Given the car’s weight, it makes sense that it was delivered with a 6.2L V8 and also that it was one of the first cars to deliver power-assisted steering.
More than a century later and the brand’ is still redefining the luxury experience and celebrity status.

So if you’re looking for a way to supplement your current income or up your status, this 1959 Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud II from our classifieds could provide both. The Cloud has been used as a limousine for weddings, functions and hire which could become your new side hustle.
1973 MG Midget – Kate Moss
— The MG Owners’ Club (@TheMGOwnersClub) May 13, 2014
Kate Moss is a fashion icon, as is the car she chooses to drive: a 1973 MG Midget Mark III. She’s often spotted by the tabloids driving it around her hometown in Cotswold, England. The humble British roadster was the everyday sports car until the Mazda MX-5 took pole position in 1989. Since British sports cars took a turn at the end of the ’70s, the MG Midget remained one of the cheaper points of entry into that segment of the classic car market.

Although the British supermodel has been spotted tooling around London in both a Rolls-Royce and a Porsche 911, the car she is seen most often driving around her home in the Cotswolds is this classic early 1970s MG Midget. pic.twitter.com/mn8cDDf8vV— Killarney International Raceway (@killarney_ct) July 24, 2020
We found a restored example for $29,999 and provided the paint job and motor have been redone properly, it should be a fun car to drive, that’s relatively simple to work on and cheap to buy. So for anyone looking to recreate Kate’s vibe on a budget then you may want to look into this Midget as most other classic sports cars have appreciated beyond the reach of many people.
1958 Porsche 356A – Adam Levine
An edgy young guy with a melancholy look and rough manners, who lived fast and died tragically. I’m not talking about Adam Levine, I’m talking about both actors James Dean and Steve McQueen who were the kings of cool. What do Adam, Steve and James all have in common? They drove and owned the most streamlined sports car to ever come from Stuttgart.
Aside from its design was a beefed up boxer engine that delivers drivability and durability in one neat package and for that reason, it is easy to see why Adam Levine holds a special fascination for his Porsche.
Sadly, there are no genuine 356A’s currently listed, but that’s okay because this VW based replica also happens to be around $400,000 cheaper. The Perth based seller of this beefed-up Beetle claims that it was owned by the ex-wife of Top Gear’s host, Jeremy Clarkson. A quadruple whammy dose of celebrity cool at your next Car’s and Coffee meet, vintage track day or perhaps an after-work drinks conversation starter? We’ll leave that up to you to decide.
So if the life of a celebrity means having to deal with Paparazzi and Social Media all day, every day, then what better way to escape it all, even if only for a few moments, than by driving a raw and unrefined classic through the hills of Hollywood or navigating Double Bay, sailing through South Yarra or cruising through Northbridge.
