Genesis has released its first electric vehicle; a compact SUV called the 2023 Genesis GV60. The new, affordable luxury EV entry was initially available in just four states. It can now be purchased in eight states: Arizona, California, Connecticut, New Jersey, Nevada, New York, Utah, and Washington. How much will buyers shell out for the 2023 Genesis GV60? And how much does the fully loaded luxury SUV cost?

The 2023 Genesis GV60, which has won several safety and design awards, reports Genesis, is available in two trim levels: the Advanced AWD and the Performance AWD. The Advanced AWD has a starting price of $59,290 and is anything but basic. It offers an EPA-estimated 248-mile range. The 2023 Genesis GV60 Advanced AWD trim gets 103 mpg in the city and 86 mpg on the highway. Its dual motors generate 314 hp. The Advanced AWD trim has 20-inch alloy wheels and leather seating surfaces.
All GV60 SUVs have dual-motor all-wheel drive and have a vision roof with a power shade. Both trims come with luxury tech, including a 12.3-inch navigation system next to a 12.3-inch LCD digital gauge cluster. Also standard are a Bang & Olufsen premium audio system, a head-up display, a wireless device charger in the front, and facial recognition and fingerprint authentication system.
The two trims include a crystal sphere shift knob that appears when the SUV is turned on, says Car and Driver. Drivers of both trims are surrounded by premium features like a leatherette-wrapped instrument panel, heated and ventilated front seats, and a heated power tilt and telescopic steering wheel. There is also a power hands-free smart liftgate with auto open. Both trims of the GV60 come standard with driver attention warning, automated emergency braking, adaptive cruise control with lane centering, lane-keeping assist with lane-departure warning, parking collision-avoidance assist, remote start parking assist, and additional safety features.

The 2023 GV60 Performance AWD trim has a starting price of $68,290. The additional $9,000 brings increased power but decreased range. The Performance AWD trim has a range of 235 miles, as estimated by the EPA. It gets 97 mpg in the city and 82 mpg on the highway. It produces 429 hp and can increase to 483 hp when the Boost driving mode is used.
The Performance AWD trim has an electronically controlled suspension, an electronic limited-slip differential, a boost feature, and 21-inch alloy wheels. Along with the standard features, this trim has Nappa leather seating surfaces, a microfiber suede headliner and pillars, and heated rear seats.
Additional options
Available in nine exterior paint colors for the Advanced AWD trim, several color options will add $575 to the price: Uyuni White, Vik Black, Savile Silver, Himalayan Gray, Atacama Copper, Mauna Red, and Hanauma Mint. Available at no additional cost are Alta White and Sao Paulo Lime. The Performance AWD trim has an additional exterior color option: Matterhorn White, which costs an additional $1,500.
Neither trim offers additional packages, although both have an available first aid kit, which costs $45. A free feature that U.S. buyers are eligible for is three years of free 30-minute charging sessions through a deal between Genesis and Electrify America.
Car and Driver describe the 2023 Genesis GV60 as “off-beat” and “punchy.” The smallest of the Genesis SUVs, the GV60 has plenty to offer drivers of either the standard trim or the fully loaded option. For those interested in the fully loaded option, the GV60 in Matterhorn White with the first aid kit totals up to $69,835. With $1,095 for freight, that makes a cost of $70,930.
