The Honda Amaze has been a hot talking point for a while now, is it due to the styling, is it the tech or is it the solid performance characteristics? Let's find out!
Amazing performance
We have spoken a lot about the Honda Amaze over the last few weeks, from its suitability as a family car, to it’s ease of use for new drivers, and on to it’s fuel economy. One thing we have to yet to cover is how it performs.
The Honda Amaze is only available with one power plant, a 1.2l naturally aspirated 4-cylinder engine that is mated to either a manual or CVT transmission. There is a very small performance difference but let’s take a look at the bare facts to see which one may be best for you.
Manual
Power output | 66kW / 110Nm
0-100km | 12.3 secs | ||
Fuel Economy | 5.6l /100km
Top Speed | 160km/h | ||
Gears | 5 | ||
CVT
Power Output | 66 kW / 110Nm
0-100km | 13.5 secs | ||
Fuel Economy | 5.7l / 100km
Top Speed | 160km/h | ||
Gears | Variable | ||
Verdict
As you can see there is indeed a small performance difference with the Manual derivative having a small 1-second advantage in the 0-100 sprint and a very small fuel economy advantage. It is plain to see that the performance figures between the two models is negligible, and it really will come down to whether the driver is seeking a manual or auto drive option.
