Honda has recently decided to increase prices for their most popular sedans, City and Amaze, by 1 per cent from June 2023. As per the company, the reason for the price hike is due to the increasing cost pressure
Kunal Behl, Vice President of Sales and Marketing Honda, stated that the company is increasing prices in response to the increasing cost pressures on the company. The prices will vary according to the variants of the models.
Currently, Honda’s entry-level sedan Amaze is offered in a price range between Rs 6.99 lakh and 9.60 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The company had recently hiked the prices of the car by Rs 12,000 from April 2023.
The Honda Amaze has a naturally aspirated 1.2-liter 4-cylinder petrol engine that generates 89bhp and 110Nm of torque. It can be paired with either a 5-speed manual or CVT transmission.
In contrast, Honda’s most popular sedan – the Honda City- is offered at prices between Rs 11.55 lakh to Rs 20.39 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). However, the price hike will not affect the strong hybrid variant of this mid-size sedan.
The petrol variant of the Honda City houses a 1.5-litre petrol engine that can produce 121bhp and 145Nm of peak torque and can be availed in both CVT and manual transmissions.
Currently, Honda is set to launch their mid-size SUV, Elevate, on June 6. The company has huge expectations for this launch as they’re preparing to disrupt the mid-size SUV segment. Elevate will compete against the likes of other popular SUVs like Kia Seltos, Hyundai Creta and Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara.
