The Shannons Adelaide Rally takes place in November this year. Entries are now open for the highly anticipated Shannons Adelaide Rally .

Scheduled to run over four days in November, this year’s event will be designed to promote closer racing on tighter and more technical tracks for competitors and spectators alike to enjoy.

Up to 30 stages are currently being proposed, which include a collection of traditional Adelaide rally stages of old

All rally enthusiasts are invited to enter with a wide range of categories on offer, including the outright competition, 130km/h-limited Challenge, Spirit Tour and main tour categories as well as a half-day introductory Prima Tour event.

Interested competitors can enter the event here.

Event organiser, Tim Possingham believed this year’s event will be the most inclusive to all rally types and will offer some of the closest rally action in recent years.

“We have been working closely with Motorsport Australia throughout the review period and in simple terms, the result is quite similar to what we see in Europe and most other parts of the world in respect to rules for competitive tarmac rally cars,” Possingham explained.

“We believe that this will deliver more parity amongst the field here in Australia. I think a technical alignment between the two disciplines will normalise the sport and will be better in the long term.

“They are technical, tight and twisty stages with a lot of guard-railing and embankments and very low average speeds. They are real drivers’ roads.

“The front end of the field will get shaken up a bit and things will certainly get evened up a lot. It’s going to be an epic battle here this November. I can see maybe 10 cars mixing it for top placings right down to the last day.

“We have had a lot of interest from people that are absolute gun drivers on gravel that are keen to look at the event now the playing field has been levelled and we are excited to see those people come into the sport.”

More information on the event can be found here.

The 2023 Shannons Adelaide Rally will take place in the Adelaide region on 16-19 November.
