With a 5.7-liter naturally aspirated V-10 behind the cabin, listening to music probably isn’t the first thing on any Porsche Carrera GT’s driver’s mind. But just in case you do want to bump some tunes while driving, there is actually a factory-installed CD player. You’ll never guess where it’s hidden.
Tom’s Garage took to Instagram to show viewers how to play CDs in the mid-2000s supercar. Obviously the player isn’t at the front of the dash, but it also isn’t in the glovebox or the front trunk, like it is in some other mid-engine exotics.
Instead, the CD player is tucked under the dash in the tunnel between the two footwells, in a place where you wouldn’t even be able to see without having to bend down and tuck your body under the steering wheel with a flashlight. Tom speculates half of Carrera GT owners don’t even know the player exists. We’re inclined to agree.
The more you know.
