- Texas tuners plan to take the new Ford F-150 Raptor R to 1,000 horsepower
- Engineering is based on the company’s experience with the GT500 Venom
- The launch of the “VelociRaptoR 1000” is planned for the first quarter of 2023
If you’re the type to consider skydiving a little mundane or bungee-jumping a yawn-inducing recreational activity on the same level as watching paint dry, the speed freaks at Hennessey have dreamed up an absolutely bonkers off-road truck just for you.
Named the “Hennessey VelociRaptoR 1000” – that’s the company’s capitalization, not ours – this planned engineering and development program calls for the company’s in-house speed team to replace the stock blower with an enormous 3.8L supercharger, up significantly in displacement from the factory unit, which has a measly 2.65L of displacement. This brawny power-adder will be complemented with new high-flow induction, larger fuel injectors which will presumably deliver flammables with the force of a fire horse, upgraded fuel lines, and a new supercharger belt.

When final calibrations are complete, a process which surely involves using Paul Bunyan’s axe and Thor’s hammers, the result is expected to be a 40-per-cent increase in output. This means the thing is anticipated to boast nearly 1,000 horsepower and more than 850 lb-ft of torque. Saddle up, pardner.
Hennessey claims to have built thousands of its EcoBoost-powered VelociRaptors for customers all around the globe. “The VelociRaptoR 1000 raises the performance bar significantly in terms of sheer power,” says John Hennessey, company founder and CEO.
“Add in the characteristic supercharger whine and the distinctive exhaust note from the unique cross-plane V8, and the package is unbeatable.” The man has a point. While the standard six-pot Raptor is no slouch, there is just something extra intoxicating about the ripsaw roar of eight cylinders.
The new Hennessey VelociRaptoR 1000 is set to debut in the first quarter of 2023. Customers may place orders now at authorized Ford retailers, or directly with Hennessey.
