HOUSTON (Texas): For its 25th anniversary, US-based tuning house – Hennessey Performance Engineering, has announced that it will be building only 25 beefed-up examples of the 25th Anniversary Edition HPE800 Ford Mustang.
Using the 717bhp HPE700 as a base, the US-based tuning-house has effectively added 87bhp and 22Nm more performance to give rise to the HPE800 – now producing an insane 804bhp at 7,000rpm and 879Nm of torque at 4,400rpm.
With each car getting its own serialised plaque, we’d doubt there’s a chance of catching that number since the HPE800 has cut its 0-100kph sprint time down by about 0.5 seconds from the HPE700, taking about 3.3 seconds to achieve the feat, before reaching a top speed of 335kph.
In terms of parts upgrades, the HPE800’s 5.0-litre supercharged V8 retains the 2.9-litre supercharger system from the HPE700, but adds on a high flow carbon fibre air induction system, new performance exhaust system, carbon fiber coilpack covers, upgraded fuel injectors and fuel pump system and slapped on a carbon fibre body kit.
As standard, the HPE800 now rolls on 20-inch wheels with 265/30 (front) and 295/30 (rear) Michelin Pilot Super Sport tyres taking care of grip, while stopping power is enhanced by Brembo’s 15-inch front-brake upgrade and a set of KW Variant 3 Lowered Suspension upgrade takes care of handling.
There’s no mention of price, but it’s sure going to cost a pretty penny to own one.
