Heavy C8 Corvette Z06 Constraints Trickle Down To Options
It isn’t just the chip shortage affecting Z06 production.
Production Problems
It’s no secret that the 2023 Corvette Z06 is in hot demand, and there’s simply no way that GM can build enough to satisfy that demand. Aside from limiting production of the new track-focused Corvette due to issues like the chip shortage, the automaker is also facing a number of constraints in terms of options, too.

Ultra Constrained
According to GM Authority, all of the Carbon Aero Packages available for the C8 Z06 are under heavy constraint at the moment, which is unfortunate given the popularity of those items. In fact, those packages are constrained to the point where they’ll only be available on three percent of total 2023 Z06 orders.

Future Collectible
Given the fact that GM won’t likely be able to produce many Z06s in the 2023 model year in total, that means aero cars are set to be incredibly rare, and quite hard to get one’s hands on. It’s unclear how many 2023 Corvette Z06 models GM will be able to build, but we can’t imagine that we’ll see many aero-equipped examples running around.

Small Percentages
Since the Z07 Performance Package includes this aero, that also means that it will be quite difficult to obtain as well. Meanwhile, total Z06 production will represent around 10 percent of total 2023 Corvette production due to “plant restrictions,” though it’s possible that conditions could improve as the model year drags on.

Package Details
The first Carbon Aero Package – RPO code T0F – is otherwise known as the Carbon fiber, Carbon Flash-painted package. It includes dive planes, the high-wing, and Carbon Flash-painted carbon ground effects. Meanwhile, RPO code T0G – the Visible carbon fiber package – consists of visible carbon ground effects, the high-wing, and dive planes.

Coming Soon
Production of the 2023 Corvette Z06 is set to kick off at the Bowling Green Assembly Plant in September, so it won’t be long before we see (and hear) the exciting new model out on the streets, although it may be a while before they’re a common sight.
