GWM has announced Australian pricing and specifications for its new electric city car – the Ora – that will be available in three variants locally.
The Ora is a 100 percent electric hatchback that will launch locally in standard-range, extended-range and GT guise.
Pricing will start from $44,490 driveaway (NT) for the standard-range base model and up to $58,405 driveaway (WA) for the flagship GT guise. Pricing varies based on the state of purchase which is available below.
The GWM Ora will certainly stand out on Australian roads
All of the new Oras coming to Australia will be fitted with a single, front-mounted electric motor that produces 126kW of power and 250Nm of torque.
Battery size will differ depending on variant, however the base battery pack – provided by major battery supplier CATL – will be 48kWh in size. The 48kWh battery will have a range of 320km (WLTP), while the larger 63kWh will have a range of 420km (WLTP).

The GWM Ora is available with two different battery sizes
With a relatively long range combined with a keen price tag for an EV, the Ora will compete primarily with the entry-level Polestar 2 and Cupra Born, though its focus on style could see it snag attention away from the electric Mini Cooper SE and in-bound Fiat 500 EV.

A larger battery pack is available for both the extended-range Ora and the Ora GT that is 63kWh in size.
Dual 10.25-inch screens dominate the interior space of the Ora
The standard and long-range Ora comes standard with several features, including 18-inch alloy wheels, dual 10.25-inch displays with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 360-degree camera, adaptive cruise control, AEB with pedestrian and cyclist detection and lane departure warning.
The flagship GT variant adds GT-style 18-inch alloy wheels, a GT-exclusive bumper and grille, electric tailgate, a panoramic sunroof, six-way power adjustable driver’s seat and automatic parking.
The GWM Ora will be available in five two-tone colours: Hamilton White, Sun Black, Glacier Blue, Mars Red and Aurora Green. All colours are priced at $595 except white.
The GWM Ora is exclusively electric powered
The Ora, along with the rest of the GWM range, will be covered by GWM’s seven year/unlimited kilometre warranty. The battery will be covered by an eight-year warranty.
Although not scored just yet by the local ANCAP safety organisation, the GWM Ora has scored a five star rating with the European NCAP safety body.
