Maserati unveiled their 2023 Formula E car earlier this week and, perhaps unsurprisingly, it’s an absolute beauty.
Maserati, like many Italian car manufacturers, have got a fine habit of producing great-looking vehicles, whether they be road-going or for the race track, and their Gen3 car is looking very sharp indeed.
Of course, much of it is something we’ll see across the board in Formula E next year as Gen3 comes into view but the stylistic touches on the livery are very Maserati indeed, and are very eye-catching.
Here’s a look at the team’s video around their launch of the car, which shows off the machinery in all its glory:
Maserati are entering FE for 2023 as a new name, though they are taking over where the Venturi team left off, and have Edoardo Mortara and Maximilian Guenther behind the wheel for them.
Speaking back when it was announced he’d be staying with the team, Mortara said: “Since joining in Season 4, the team has become home for me and I’m really happy to continue my journey with such a collection of hard-working and talented individuals into Season 9 and beyond.
“The past five seasons have been some of the best of my career and I’m looking forward to building upon our current success together in Gen3. As a Swiss-Italian, representing the Maserati brand in their return to international motorsport will be a great honour.”
Guenther said meanwhile: “I’m very proud to be joining the Maserati MSG Racing family alongside Edo [Mortara] ahead of Season 9. I have a lot of admiration for the team and their achievements in recent seasons – they have been tough to beat and fully deserve their current status as Vice-World Champions.
“To be part of the Maserati brand’s return to racing in partnership with MSG Racing is a huge honour for me and I‘m looking forward to building something very strong together.”
The new FE season begins next month, with testing underway in Valencia next week.
