Ford plans to produce up to half a million all-electric pickup trucks at its BlueOval City plant in the US state of Tennessee in the future. According to the manufacturer, the construction of the electric vehicle and battery plant is on track to start production as planned in 2025.
Since the construction of the new factory began last year, Ford has already launched the development of a next-generation electric pickup truck under the codename T3, which will be built at BlueOval City from 2025. With a production volume of 500,000 vehicles at full capacity, the new plant is expected to play an important part in achieving Ford’s goal of increasing electric vehicle production to a total of 2 million units per year by the end of 2026.
Ford had also recently announced an increase in production volumes of its current Mustang Mach-E, F-150 Lightning and E-Transit electric models, which roll off the production lines at plants in Cuautitlan, Mexico, in Michigan and in Kansas City. In order to achieve these ambitious targets, Ford and factory partner SK On are investing $5.6 billion in the campus and creating approximately 6,000 new jobs

According to Ford, “Project T3 is short for “Trust The Truck” – a code name that stuck after the development team made it their rallying cry”.
