Ford has updated the Mustang Mach-E with more driver aids as standard, plus a higher towing capacity for 91kWh battery models

The Ford Mustang Mach-E has been updated and will now include more driver assistance tech and comfort features as standard. Owners of 91kWh battery versions will be able to tow 500kg more than before, making the Mach-E more practical.
All Mustang Mach-E models now come with Intelligent Automated Cruise Control 2.0, which is the latest version of its adaptive cruise control system. It’s able to use information from the sat-nav and forward-facing camera to adjust the car’s speed ahead of turns and roundabouts.
91kWh Mustang Mach-E rear-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive models will also get a boost to towing capacity. Previous models were capable of a towing weight up to 1,000kg, but this now increases to 1,500kg. It’s a difference that could make the difference between being able to tow a caravan or not.
The manufacturer has also announced that Premium specifications, which were previously the reserve of the all-wheel-drive models, will now also be available on rear-wheel-drive 91kWh-battery Mustang Mach-E models. Premium brings 19-inch alloy wheels, adaptive LED headlights with auto high-beam, eight-way power-adjustable driver and passenger seats. It also includes aesthetic upgrades such as red brake callipers and black exterior finishes for a more sporting look.
Two new paint colours also join the options list across the range – these are Vapor Blue and Carbonized Grey. Two new alloy wheel designs will also be available to choose from.
The announcement comes alongside the news that the electric Mustang Mach-E SUV is outselling the petrol-powered Mustang eight-to-one, and that 80% of Mach-E customers are new to the Ford brand. The Ford Mustang Mach-E now starts from £50,830 for the base rear-wheel-drive ‘Select’ models with the 70kWh battery, up to £65,405 for the 91kWh all-wheel-drive ‘Premium’ models. The performance-focussed GT models start from £74,540.
