The Ford Everest Wildtrak was revealed earlier this year for New Zealand, and now it’s coming to Australia.
The special edition SUV is priced at $73,090 before on-road costs, and is due in showrooms in the third quarter of 2023.
Borrowing its name from a long-running up-spec Ranger variant, the Wildtrak slots between the turbo-diesel V6 Sport and Platinum in the Everest line-up.
Like those models, it’s powered by a 3.0-litre turbo-diesel V6 engine producing 184kW of power and 600Nm of torque, mated with a 10-speed automatic transmission and a full-time four-wheel drive system.
It’s differentiated from those models with a unique grille and front bumper design, while the bonnet, doors and tailgate feature Wildtrak badging and Bolder Grey trim is used for parts like the wheel lip mouldings, fender vents and mirror caps.
It’s the first Everest to use the Ranger Wildtrak’s signature Luxe Yellow exterior finish.
Cyber Orange stitching can be found inside, contrasting with the ebony leather upholstery.
20-inch Asphalt Matt Black machined-face alloy wheels with all-season tyres are standard, while 18-inch Bolder Grey alloy wheels in all-terrain tyres are a no-cost option.
Ford Australia says final specifications will be announced closer to launch. However, it has confirmed the Everest Wildtrak will come standard with the following kit, some of which was previously exclusive to the Platinum:
- 10-way power driver’s seat with memory
- Eight-way power passenger’s seat
- Heated and ventilated front seats
- Panoramic sunroof
- Ambient lighting
- Exterior zone lighting
- Surround-view camera
The Wildtrak appears to forego the Platinum’s 12.4-inch digital instrument cluster for the standard 8.0-inch screen.
Though it was only launched last year, Ford has already increased the size of the Everest line-up.
In addition to the special edition Wildtrak, Ford has added a four-cylinder 4×2 version of the Everest Sport.
This was one of a series of tweaks for what Ford calls MY23.5, which also brought detail changes to the Platinum and price increases across the range.
