So you want a 2023 Ford Everest V6? There are two trim choices for you.
The cheaper version is the Sport grade, which is $69,090 plus on-road costs. The more expensive is the flagship Platinum grade, at $77,690 (MSRP).
Both run the same 3.0-litre turbo-diesel V6 engine producing 184kW and 600Nm, which is mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission and four-wheel drive. Fuel consumption is claimed at 8.5L/100km for both versions.
It really comes down to what you want for your money.
Sport models have a more youthful design wtih blacked out exterior elements, sports front seats with leather accented trim throughout, heated and cooled front seats, 20-inch alloy wheels and 10-speaker audio system. That’s in addition to keyless entry and push-button start, LED headlights and daytime running lights, a 8.4-inch digital instrument cluster and 12.0-inch touchscreen media system with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and sat nav.
Choose the Platinum and you add 21-inch wheels, upgraded matrix LED headlights, a panoramic sunroof, tyre pressure monitoring, quilted leather seats, heated second-row seats, a power-folding third row, heated steering wheel, surround-view camera, 12-speaker sound system, and 12.4-inch digital instrumentation. Seem like a fair step up for $7600? You decide.
Note: Both models come with the option of no-cost 18-inch rims with all-terrain tyres, if you choose, and in both cases you need to spend $1750 for a towing pack with tow bar and integrated electronic brake controller – which should probably be standard with this powertrain.
Towing capacity, across all Everest models, is 750kg for an unbraked trailer, and 3500kg for a braked trailer.
