A Force Gurkha pickup recently spotted testing in India for the first time. It is surprising to note that the test mule did not have any camouflage to cover its design.
Force Gurkha pickup: Design
As seen in the spy pictures, the recently spied Force Gurkha pickup appears to be near-production-ready. It has carried production-spec exterior elements, such as lights and wheels. The Gurkha pickup appears to be underpinned by the long-awaited five-door Force Gurkha as it bears the same design elements as the upcoming five-door SUV. The Gurkha five-door has also been spotted on multiple occasions.
Overall, the Gurkha pickup looks rugged and has an imposing stance. The chunky body cladding, large tyres, tall stance, sharp and straight cuts and creases across side panels dominate its design language. It is believed that the five-door Gurkha uses a tweaked platform of the three-door version and the Gurkha pickup might also leverage the same platform.
Force Gurkha pickup: Interior
Since the Force Gurkha pickup shares almost the same styling of the five-door Gurkha, its interior is also likely to be identical, which resembles the on-sale three-door Gurkha. We expect it to get an upright dashboard, round air con vents, a sizable touchscreen infotainment system, and an analogue instrument cluster with an MID, among others.
Force Gurkha pickup: Powertrain
The Gurkha is likely to be powered by the Mercedes-Benz-sourced 2.6-litre, inline four-cylinder diesel engine producing 91PS and 250Nm of torque. This motor comes mated to a five-speed manual gearbox. Force uses this engine in the three-door Gurkha and the five-door Gurkha could also get the same unit.
