If you have a Ferrari from the last 20 years, your car might be on this list.
Ferrari- Ferrari is recalling nearly 25,000 cars because of a brake reservoir cap that could lead to brake failure.
- The cap could not vent properly, which will cause a vacuum in your Ferrari’s hydraulic brake system and could cause a leak.
- Ferrari will replace the cap free of charge and update any necessary software.
Here’s more proof that even some of the finest crafted cars in the world aren’t immune from recalls. Ferrari issued a sweeping recall of 23,555 cars because of a possible brake fluid leak. Failing brakes are not ideal, but compound that with the high-performance pedigree associated with Ferrari’s sports cars.
The root of the problem is, according to the NHTSA report, a brake reservoir cap that might not vent properly. If the cap doesn’t vent as intended, it could create a vacuum in the system and cause a leak. This leak could cause the brake system to fail, which could then lead to a crash. The fix is almost as simple as you’d imagine: your Ferrari dealer will replace the suspect brake reservoir cap and then update your car’s software. According to the recall notice, the software update is designed to “provide a new warning message for low brake fluid.”
Below, you’ll find all of the cars on the list. You can also visit the NHTSA website here to see if your car falls under this recall or any others.
