Hyundai’s Palisade large luxury SUV has been given a mid-life facelift, and the car is now in Singapore, as spotted in official Hyundai dealer Komoco Motors’ showroom floor. The updated Palisade features revised looks and improved equipment levels, and is priced at S$288,999 with COE.
Externally, the facelifted Palisade is distinguished from the previous version by its new grille, which is larger and more imposing than before. The lights have also been lightly redesigned, but overall the car’s dimensions remain unchanged.
Inside, the biggest noticeable change is that the Palisade is now a seven-seater instead of eight, with the second row now consisting of a pair of captain’s chairs instead of a bench seat, a move which is ostensibly meant to deliver more comfort for passengers, as well as improve access into the third row of seats.
Locally, the Palisade also comes with the Hyundai SmartSense suite of driver assistance systems, which includes features such as Forward Collision Assist, Blind Sport Collision Avoidance Assist, as well as Remote Smart Parking Assist, with the latter function first seen on Hyundai’s cousin Kia’s EV6 electric car.
The car remains powered by a 3.5-litre V6 that produces 277hp and 336Nm of torque, paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. 0-100km/h comes up in 8.2 seconds, and top speed is rated at 210km/h. With such a large engine, the Palisade returns a quoted fuel consumption figure of 10.5L/100km, and falls into VES Band C2, which incurs a S$25,000 surcharge.
