Gasgoo Munich- Gasgoo reported on April 9 that Zhiyuan Robotics officially unveiled Genie Operator-2 (GO-2), a next-generation embodied foundation model.GO-2 bridges the "last mile" between logical reasoning and precise action execution within a unified architecture. Trained on tens of thousands of hours of data, the model surpasses state-of-the-art (SOTA) performance across multiple robotic benchmarks, moving the industry from "black box trial-and-error" toward a true unity of thought and action.Image Credit: Zhiyuan RoboticsA year ago, Zhiyuan launched the Genie Operator-1 (GO-1) foundation model. Using its innovative ViLLA architecture, it achieved the first unified modeling of vision, language, and action.GO-1 taught robots to "understand." It could comprehend instructions, identify scenes, and plan tasks.Yet, as the system moved into more complex real-world environments, a critical issue emerged: while robots could generate reasonable plans, their actions didn't always strictly follow through. In traditional embodied models, the chain is often fragmented: high-level semantic reasoning leads to abstract instructions, which flow to a control system and finally to robot actions. A massive gap remains between the abstract signals from high-level models and the precise movements required in the real world. During execution, control modules often bypass the planning stage, relying instead on instantaneous vision to generate movements. This leads to accumulating errors in long-horizon tasks, actions that drift from the plan, and a significant drop in overall system stability. The new GO-2 foundation model aims to bridge exactly this gap. Its goal is clear and firm: to enable robots not just to understand the world, but to interact with it stably and reliably.Moving from GO-1 to GO-2, Zhiyuan has made a critical leap from capability to value: shifting from merely "understanding the world" to truly acting upon it; from "occasional success" to consistent, stable completion; and from "simply performing movements" to precise interaction and reliable deployment in the physical world. The GO-2 foundation model is designed to build a truly thinking, trustworthy, and deployable general brain for embodied intelligence. It breaks the divide between semantics and action, unifying planning and execution so that every robot movement adapts to the complex variables of the physical world and operates stably within real-world scenarios.
