A man’s truck broke down on the side of the highway. When he returned, the condition he found it in sent him into hysterics. Dealing with any sort of breakdown is never fun or ideal, especially when it happens on a busy road like a highway. In a TikTok that’s generated over 1.6 million views as of this writing, creator BlingoBlongo (@blingoblongo) shares how his truck breakdown went from bad to worse. In the TikTok, BlingoBlongo begins, “So I broke down on the side of the road the other day. Sorry I’m shaking.” As he approaches the truck he says he left on the side of the road a couple of days prior, he makes a startling discovery. Every inch of the truck appears mangled. “Who the [expletive] did this to my truck,” he yells. The roof of the truck is completely smashed with no front windshield showing. The hood is missing and the engine is exposed. The headlights are gone and the bumper is hanging on by a thread. “It’s ruined. Who did this?” he says. What To Do When Your Car Breaks Down On the Highway No one wants their car to break down, particularly not on a busy road like a highway. However, knowing what to do if this happens will help minimize any confusion and stress. If your car breaks down on the highway, it’s essential to prioritize your safety first and foremost. If no shoulder access is available, turn on your hazards and stay inside the vehicle. Generally speaking, it’s safer to remain inside the car instead of trying to cross a high-speed highway. Pedestrians are at grave risk on highways. You could be seriously hurt or even lose your life. “Semi-trucks or tractor-trailers are particularly hazardous to other vehicles when stopped on the side of the road. Due to their height, they present a risk of what is commonly known as an underride accident, where a passenger vehicle is crushed underneath the rear of the trailer,” the law firm Martin and Jones points out. The firm offers these tips for avoiding roadside accidents: When seeing another driver pulled over on the shoulder, give them space and merge over to the next lane if possible. Only pull off to the shoulder of the road for emergencies. When dealing with a flat tire, drive to the next exit if possible. When pulling off onto the shoulder of the road, pull off far as possible. On the shoulder, be as visible as possible. Hazards on, car hood up, reflective triangles, flares, etc. Avoid pulling off on the left shoulder unless it’s the only option. Always shoot to get to the right shoulder when stopping. Turn your hazards on and let other drivers know your car is not operating correctly. When exiting the vehicle, exercise extreme caution. Exit a vehicle with a break in traffic and get far away from the car in case another car strikes the car. Truck Breakdown Inspired Real-Life Breakdown People were stunned by the damage to the truck. (It is possible that BlingoBlongo saw someone else's wrecked truck and filmed his "reaction" for content. He did not respond to requests for comment.) “Looks like they found a monster truck and ran over it,” one person surmised. “So that looks like somebody ran over your car with another vehicle,” one agreed. Others expressed confusion over how exactly this was even possible. “No but actually, who, how, why, and why again,” one wondered. “No, I want to know how the hell that happened… that is some crazy damage!!” another shared. The internet being the internet, other viewers made jokes. “You have beef with the Hulk?” one asked facetiously. “How non-powered normal people feel living in the Marvel universe,” another added. “Omg they killed Optimus Prime,” a third commented. Others made cracks about the truck's damage and the creator’s crash out. “Check the windshield. Maybe they left a note,” one suggested. “I guess that’s twice now he’s broken down on the side of the road,” another barbed about BingoBongo’s reaction to discovering his destroyed vehicle.
