The United States Postal Service revealed a new set of eight stamps commemorating 100 years since the Route 66 highway was established. Each stamp sports a photo taken at a site along the historic highway, with one photo from each of the eight states the iconic highway passed through. Established in 1926, Route 66 spanned roughly 2400 miles from Chicago to Los Angeles but was decommissioned in 1985 in favor of the interstate system.
