Gridserve says the 400 kW chargers can add up to 100 miles of range in less than ten minutes for compatible electric vehicles. These are not the first stations at this site. In fact, there are already six existing fast-chargers operated by Gridserve, just with less power. These chargers will continue to support vehicles equipped with CCS and CHAdeMO connectors.Gridserve also highlighted that the location is now the largest ultra-rapid EV charging hub in the region. Only Moto Rugby Services, further south on the M6, currently offers a larger provision of ultra-rapid charging bays on the motorway network, with 36 bays in operation, the company added. As with Gridserve’s other Electric Super Hubs, the Moto Lymm site is powered by renewable electricity and supports contactless payment through a ‘plug in and pay’ charging process. Drivers using the site can also access the company’s Gridserve Plus membership programme, which offers discounted charging rates and additional benefits across the operator’s charging network.“As EV adoption continues to accelerate, drivers need more than just fast chargers; they need charging infrastructure they can depend on,” said Gridserve CCO Rebecca Trebble. “That’s why we continue to invest heavily in large-scale Electric Super Hubs like Moto Lymm, delivering high numbers of ultra-rapid charging bays at strategically important locations across the UK’s motorway network.”She added: “By deploying charging infrastructure at this scale, and continuing to focus on enhancing speed and reliability, we’re giving drivers the confidence that charging will be available whenever they need it. Moto Lymm is a fantastic new hub for people travelling in and around the North West and another example as to why Gridserve remains the UK’s most used EV charging network.”Moto Hospitality also highlighted the growing importance of motorway charging infrastructure as EV registrations continue to rise. “We are passionate about transforming the EV charging experience across the UK motorway network,” said Ken McMeikan, Chief Executive of Moto Hospitality. “The expansion at Moto Lymm Services demonstrates the success of our partnership with Gridserve and our shared ambition to provide high-quality, ultra-rapid charging at modern, well-equipped service areas.”gridserve.com
