The Toyota Sequoia has been around for 25 years, so it’s no surprise to hear the full-size SUV is getting a serious makeover for the 2027 model year. And upgraded exterior looks and features, big-time towing proficiency, and more off-road capability—complete with a new are all on the menu.

Fresh exterior styling is the most obvious change to the 2027 Sequoia. The new front-end geometry is wider, while the lower bumper integrates new rectangular fog lights; certain Sequoia trim levels also add a new hexagonal grille design. Speaking of, Toyota will offer six versions of the Sequoia for 2027: SR5, Limited, Platinum, 1794, TRD Pro, and Capstone.

Off-road adventure is a big focus of the 2027 lineup, too. Toyota will offer two off-road-focused models—the jumpable TRD Pro trim and a Trailhunter package for the SR5 trim, aimed at overlanding—at two different price points. TRD Pro Sequoia models feature Sequoia-specific FOX QS3 adjustable shocks, 18-inch forged BBS wheels, and available ISO-dynamic seats; standard red tow hooks and a striking new Honeycomb signature color also join the fray. Meanwhile, the Trailhunter package includes an Old Man Emu upgraded suspension, an underbody skid plate, front recovery hooks, and Michelin LTX tires on exclusive bronze-colored wheels. A locking rear differential is also part of the package.

Every Sequoia model is powered by Toyota’s 3.4-liter twin-turbo V-6 hybrid powertrain, offering 437 horsepower and 538 lb-ft of torque. Towing capacity comes in at a whopping 9520 pounds. Toyota added towing-specific features to its Toyota Safety Sense 4.0 technology suite; Automated Trailer Detection, Trailer Blind Spot Monitor, Trailer Lane Trace Assist, and Trailer Backup Guide are all standard for 2027.

Inside, the 2027 Toyota Sequoia offers a standard 14-inch touchscreen and a built-in Drive Recorder Dash Cam with playback available directly through the screen. A 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster is now standard, too.

SR5 trim Sequoia models start at $72,095, while Limited Sequoia models are priced at $78,170, and Platinum versions start at $85,595. The TRD Pro Sequoia is priced at $88,120, and the Capstone tops the lineup at $90,095. Toyota is also offering an $86,595 1794-edition Sequoia with Western-inspired design details, including unique saddle-brown interior accents and open-pore wood trim. And that Trailhunter will run you at least $75,595.
