The setup is expected to produce about 134 horsepower combined and could be roughly 10% to 20% more efficient than the current system. An all-wheel-drive version is also possible.The lineup will also gain the first Corolla plug-in hybrid and fully electric models. Toyota is expected to give the PHEV a larger battery for greater electric driving range, although specific details have not yet been revealed.The Corolla EV is expected to come with either one or two motors and offer at least 250 miles of driving range. The Japanese automaker has not yet confirmed whether the electric Corolla will be sold in the U.S. The next-generation model is expected to debut sometime in 2027 as a 2028 model-year vehicle.Pricing will be revealed closer to launch.
