With a modular design and impressive origami-like capabilities, it promises to raise the bar for camper van conversions in more ways than one.A packable life on the roadThe CCS relies on a slide-out and fold-out mechanism that deploys a series of modules from packed configurations into fully camp-worthy accommodations.AdvertisementAdvertisementLike some other plug-and-play conversions, the modifications aren't meant to be permanent, so the system can be moved from one vehicle to another (provided it's compatible). The folding design is impressive, especially when you consider that it holds a kitchen and bath inside. - Credit: Vanna Camp GmbHInstead of a soft-sided construction, it relies on solid walls made from fiber-reinforced plastic. Vanna Camp says this means it's not just quieter but also more private and better equipped for weather than setups that skew more tent-like in design.Furthermore, when erected, the main cube offers a 6.2-foot standing height and a dedicated 35 x 37-inch wet-bath floor area. As such, it amounts to a generous addition to the interior footprint, relative to the space at large.Vanna Camp didn't design the CCS to be a simple sleeping platform. - Credit: Vanna Camp GmbHTo that end, Vanna Camp positions the sleeping module up top, like an RTT or a pop-top, to provide more room. In contrast to traditional setups, however, it brings a fully hard-sided form that unfolds to create a large 79 x 79-inch bed.AdvertisementAdvertisementEven so, what makes the CCS stand out on paper is that it accounts for more than just shelter, and it all tucks away when not in use.The CCS is self-contained, so it be removed and transferred to another van. - Credit: Vanna Camp GmbHThe rear module doubles as both a kitchen area and a bathroom. Accordingly, it brings a burner setup for cooking as well as a full wet bath. Vanna Camp doesn't offer complete specs, but the setup includes a shower and a portable toilet.Availability and pricingIt's worth noting that Vanna Camp has not designed the Cubivan Camping System as a one-size-fits-all item. Compatible base vehicles include the VW Caravelle, Ford Tourneo Custom and Mercedes Vito.Vanna Camp is taking reservations through its Pre-Order page, with tiers starting at €150. The brand targets a full order launch for Summer 2027. No retail price has been announced.Cubivan Camping System Learn More AdvertisementAdvertisementAbout the Author: Gray is an associate editor at Gear Patrol, covering cars, motorcycles and anything else with wheels.
