Normally, that number brings to mind lightweight commuters, delivery bikes, and motorcycles whose performance brief can basically be summarized as "we'll get there eventually." German EV company Trinity apparently has a somewhat different interpretation, because its Saturn GT 300 allegedly tops out at 87 miles per hour.And yes, this thing really does sit in Europe's 125-class licensing world. Trinity says the Saturn GT 300 can be ridden under the A1 category, as well as Germany's B196 car-license extension. At the same time, the company describes it as offering performance comparable to a 500cc maxi-scooter. But Trinity says peak output doubles to 22 kW, or roughly 30 horsepower. It also claims the scooter can reach 87 miles per hour, which is hilariously far removed from what most riders probably picture when somebody says "125-class."It's also enormous by traditional 125 standards. Trinity lists the Saturn GT at around 487 pounds with its battery installed, with a 15-inch front wheel, 14-inch rear wheel, ABS, traction control, regenerative braking, and space for a passenger. In other words, "125-class" is doing an incredible amount of bureaucratic heavy lifting here. This thing is built and equipped much more like a proper touring maxi-scooter.Then there's the battery. Trinity claims a chunky 13.3-kWh lithium pack and up to 193 miles of range, with charging taking around four to six hours. That's a genuinely impressive figure if it translates anywhere close to real-world riding, although Trinity's published range and performance numbers are still manufacturer claims. At 87 miles per hour, physics will inevitably have some opinions about how long those 193 miles stick around.And there's another reason I'm keeping one eyebrow slightly raised. Some, if not all, of Trinity's product images appear very heavily processed, distinctly AI-enhanced, or even outright computer-generated. And sure, that doesn't mean the Saturn GT doesn't exist, but when you're staring at unusually ambitious specifications alongside some sketchy-looking product photos, a healthy dose of skepticism seems more than appropriate.AdvertisementAdvertisementStill, the underlying premise is fascinating.
