Source: SegwaySource: SegwayWe have been talking about-- and waiting for-- Segway's new Super Villain SX20T for a long while. With the promise of mega power and tons of tech, it's an extremely exciting prospect and the first top-class UTV offering from the manufacturer most well known for its dorky self-balancing personal transportation devices. But with the new SX20T, that reputation finally has its best chance to turn around.Source: SegwaySource: SegwayAdvertisementAdvertisementThe high-performance side-by-side market is ultra-competitive these days. With big prices comes big power, suspension travel, and, of course, speed. These are the machines that draw the most eyes-- and clicks-- and that bring buyers into the dealerships, whether they end up buying the top-rung rigs or something more affordable (and reasonable for normal uses).Looking to get in on the fun and battle the likes of Can-Am and Polaris, Segway has-- finally-- officially launched its Super Villain SX20T. The headlines are a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that makes 235 horsepower, and even more exciting is that it's backed by a true automatic 7-speed transmission. Ground clearance is a healthy 14.6" and suspension travel is 20" up front and 21" out back. There are 32" tires and front and rear locking differentials. Good numbers.Pricing comes in at $33,999.99. That's fairly in line with other turbocharged offerings from the likes of Polaris, Can-Am, and Kawasaki. Whether the Super Villain SX20XT can do battle with the stalwarts remains to be seen, though we look forward to finding out.
