Mounted upstream of the twin turbochargers on Stellantis' 3.0-liter Hurricane High Output inline-six engine, the bypass valve directs intake air through the e-compressor when the driver requests immediate acceleration from a standstill or low engine speeds.The system can generate up to 10 PSI of boost within 650 milliseconds, allowing the engine to reach 90 percent of its maximum torque nearly instantly. Because the electric compressor handles initial air pressurization, it pre-spools the larger exhaust-driven turbos.
