Gasgoo Munich- The World Robot Conference 2026 (WRC 2026) concluded in Beijing E-Town after running from August 19 to 23. During the event, Dr. Chen Xiangbin, President E-Mobility of Schaeffler Greater China, attended the launch of the Robot Components Industry Development Alliance and a related industry roundtable. The alliance was initiated by Schaeffler's strategic partner JINGDONG Industrials.Image source: SchaefflerEmbodied intelligence and industrial robotics are entering a period of rapid development, but converting advanced prototypes into products suitable for volume deployment remains a major challenge. Many robots have yet to meet the requirements for large-scale commercialization and wider use in terms of service life, operating performance, total cost and workplace safety.JINGDONG Industrials established the alliance with Schaeffler and other companies across the value chain to improve industry coordination, address supply chain gaps, align technical pathways and develop common implementation standards. The initiative seeks to improve the usability, durability, safety and affordability of robots while moving component technologies beyond laboratory validation toward industrial application, volume production and commercially viable deployment.Dr. Chen said the alliance would bring partners together to identify suitable solutions and open more application scenarios, helping bridge the gap between individual components and their deployment in complete robotic systems. The alliance will use real-world industrial applications to define performance targets, service-life requirements and safety specifications for the next generation of robot components. Standardization and greater production scale are also expected to help reduce costs. Its work will span transmissions, motors, perception systems, electronic controls, end effectors, complete-system integration and precision testing. Members plan to conduct joint development, testing and product iteration, while working together to lower costs and resolve common technical bottlenecks.A JINGDONG Industrials representative said the company would give alliance members access to application scenarios, data, testing systems and deployment channels. The partners will use these resources to develop an ecosystem for core robot components and support the scaled development of China's robotics industry.Schaeffler and JINGDONG Industrials had previously established a strategic partnership focused on humanoid robotics. Their cooperation covers industrial product supply, intelligent procurement, smart logistics, marketing, mobility, the intelligent Internet of Things and the aftermarket. They also plan to develop a digital supply and distribution system intended to improve the purchasing experience for customers.JINGDONG Industrials will designate Schaeffler as a featured robotics brand on its platform, while Schaeffler will participate in the platform's online marketing campaigns. The companies will explore e-commerce marketing models for industrial products through database-driven campaigns, targeted advertising on external platforms and mobile marketing. They will also coordinate customer outreach across key accounts and small and medium-sized customers.
