Restored 1962 Austin-Healey 3000 BT7 With Overdrive Heads to Fall Carlisle AuctionFew British roadsters wear red-and-white as well as a Big Healey, and this restored 1962 Austin-Healey 3000 BT7 is a handsome example. Listed in Motorious inventory and crossing the block at the 2026 Fall Carlisle Auction in Carlisle, Pennsylvania, the white-and-red Mk II shows 49,761 miles and arrives with both its driver's handbook and owner's handbook.Under the long hood sits the 2.9-liter inline-six fed by triple SU carburetors, the setup that gave the BT7 its distinctive snarl. Power runs through a four-speed manual with overdrive, which makes highway cruising far more relaxed than the car's vintage might suggest, and front disc brakes add stopping confidence that earlier Austin-Healeys lacked.A Cockpit Done RightThe cabin is finished in red upholstery with crisp white piping, a color story that carries the exterior's two-tone theme inside. A wood-rimmed steering wheel fronts the dash, and a red cockpit tonneau cover keeps things tidy when the top is down. It is exactly the sort of period-correct detailing that makes a Big Healey feel like a proper sports car from the golden age of British motoring.Details That MatterChrome 15-inch steel wheels with hubcaps give the roadster a classic, understated stance, and the restored finish lets the car's long, flowing lines do the talking. The car is offered as-is, so prospective buyers will want to inspect it in person or send a trusted specialist, and our Austin-Healey 3000 buying guide is a good place to start before the bidding opens. The Austin-Healey 3000 has long been one of the most rewarding ways into vintage British sports car ownership, with a big-hearted six, a loud exhaust note, and a following that keeps parts and expertise close at hand.
