Ford Motor Co. has led the industry each of the last two years in recalls, surpassing 2023's put out for the full year in 2024 just halfway into the year. It's No. 2 this year - but there's still time.However, that same Ford Motor Co. was ranked No. 1 in the 2026 JD Power U.S. Initial Quality Study released in July for mainstream brands. Its year-over-year improvement was substantial and three of its vehicles, the Ford F-150, Ford Super Duty, and Ford Mustang led their individual segments. The study looks at overall new-vehicle quality, as measured by the total number of problems per 100 vehicles (PP100) experienced in the first 90 days of ownership. Ford posted 152 per 100.
