Even as many automakers are decelerating their electrification plans, Porsche continues to expand its options. The 2026 Porsche Cayenne S Electric is set to join the midsize SUV’s EV lineup, slotting between the between the standard Cayenne Electric and the range-topping Cayenne Turbo Electric. The Cayenne will continue to offer gasoline and hybrid variants.Porsche says the Cayenne S Electric is designed to deliver a balance of performance, efficiency, and customization for buyers looking for a premium electric SUV.The Cayenne S Electric features an all-wheel-drive system powered by a pair of electric motors, on the front and rear axles. The setup produces 400 kW (536 hp) under normal conditions and up to 490 kW (657 hp) when Launch Control is engaged. Porsche says the SUV can accelerate from 0-60 mph in 3.6 seconds and reach a top speed of 155 mph.The model uses the same 113-kWh high-voltage battery found in the other Cayenne Electric variants. When connected to a compatible fast charger, Porsche says the battery can charge from 10% to 80% in less than 16 minutes at charging speeds of up to 400 kW.To help manage performance during heavy use, the rear electric motor is fitted with direct oil cooling to help quickly dissipate heat. Porsche also says the rear axle has improved efficiency and better sustained power delivery by using a silicon-carbide pulse inverter capable of handling currents of up to 620 amps.2026 Porsche Cayenne S ElectricFrom the outside, you can tell the Cayenne S Electric model from its Volcano Grey Metallic design elements on the front and rear fascias, along with body-colored diffuser inserts. The SUV comes standard with 21-inch Aero Design wheels, while 20-inch Cayenne S Aero wheels are available at no additional cost. Buyers can choose from 13 exterior paint colors and several interior and accent packages.Performance-focused options include Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus, Porsche Active Ride suspension, and Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes (PCCB). The optional Sport Chrono Package adds a Push-to-Pass function that temporarily delivers up to 90 kW (120 hp) of additional power for up to 10 seconds, along with a Track mode that prepares the battery and powertrain for performance driving.Charging hardware includes both a North American Charging Standard (NACS) DC fast-charging port (driver-side rear fender) and a J1772 AC charging port (passenger side). A Porsche CCS DC adapter will also be included.Porsche also introduced a new Interior Style Package developed by Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur. The optional package features two-tone leather upholstery in Black and Delgada Green, matching green stitching and aluminum trim painted in Izabal Green, along with illuminated door sills and other styling accents.The 2026 Cayenne S Electric is available to order now with a starting stickter of $128,650. Deliveries are expected to begin in late summer 2026.
