It will likely replace the current 75 kWh pack available for the entry-level version, narrowing the gap between the standard and long-range versions. The Zeekr 7X was launched in China in September 2024 as a five-seat mid-size electric rival of the Tesla Model Y. Its European launch happened in the same year. In October 2025, Zeekr launched the updated 7X SUV with a peak power boosted from 637 hp to 784 hp. According to China EV DataTracker, the cumulative domestic deliveries of the 7X reached 136,356 units. Soon, the Geely-owned high-end brand will introduce yet another update of this SUV to the Chinese market. Zeekr 7X update According to Zeekr officials, the new 7X SUV will adopt an 85 kWh LFP battery called Aegis Golden Brick. It is a Geely-developed pack with short “blade” cells. The “Golden Brick” batteries reportedly have a lifespan of 1,000,000 km of range and 3,500 charging cycles. They are also said to be well-protected from thermal runaway. The currently available Zeekr 7X comes standard with a 75 kWh LFP “Golden Brick” battery. It powers a rear electric motor for 370 kW (496 hp). The car’s CLTC range reaches 620 km. This pack has a rated voltage of 618 V, allowing the 7X to charge from 10% to 80% in 10.5 minutes. There is also a long-range variant of the 7X with a ternary NMC battery for 103 kWh. It provides 802 km of range and charges from 10% to 80% in 10 minutes and 15 seconds. The Zeekr 7X crossover The 85 kWh will likely replace the currently available 75 kWh option to narrow the gap between the standard and the long-range variant. There is no information about the range or the charging performance of the new battery. We expect the 2027 model year Zeekr 7X with an 85 kWh battery to offer over 700 km of range under CLTC conditions. This way, the Geely-produced model will rival the Li Auto i6 SUV that runs up to 720 km, thanks to an 87.3 kWh LFP battery. The new Zeekr 7X will enter the domestic market in Q4 2026. It will be temporarily available with some “free purchase” options. The list includes a power rear sofa, a built-in fridge, and 20-inch multi-spoke rims.
