It's a luxury, but a nice one at that, and it was only a matter of time before this tech made its way into UTVs equipped with heat and air conditioning. Interestingly, it seems that Massimo will be the first to implement remote HVAC pre-conditioning.Source: MassimoSource: MassimoAdvertisementAdvertisementIn a recent press release, Massimo detailed its new Sentinel HVAC machines and included a note that remote pre-conditioning will be available on the Sentinel 570 HVAC and 770 HVAC side-by-sides. Doing so doesn't even require running the vehicle itself, as the UTVs will reportedly use AGM or lithium batteries. What this means is that if it's hot out, you can set the A/C and have the vehicle cool down the cabin ahead of driving it and without even having to physically go to the vehicle. Likewise, you can run the heat if it's cold out, and all of this will be doable without running the vehicle's engine. This is good news for those who park the vehicles in a garage or other indoor quarters.Note that the Sentinel rigs do look a bit awkward with their roof-mounted fans, but if that's the price to pay for added comfort, then we wouldn't be surprised to see buyers gravitate towards the slight visual inconvenience in order to be happier when driving their UTV. And of course, we wouldn't be surprised to see this tech make its way into other brands' offerings in the coming years.
