Mansory chopped the G63 and shortened its wheelbase to two doors. The Azura adds Rolls-Royce-style suicide doors and a white fabric soft top. A retuned 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 now delivers 820 hp and 848 lb-ft. Each year, Top Marques Monaco attracts a wide array of tuned exotics, and next month, Mansory appears poised to grab the attention of all attendees with this: the Mansory Azura. It serves as a radical take on the Mercedes G-Class, turning it into a wild, drop-top two-door that not even AMG itself would ever be bold enough to build. Turning a four-door like the G63 into a two-door convertible is no small task, requiring the body to be chopped and the wheelbase shortened. Mansory has then added Rolls-Royce-inspired suicide doors to the front for that ultimate luxury feel. A white fabric soft top has also been added. Among the key parts are a new grille, different air intakes, and angular LED daytime running lights. Bodywork changes continue along the sides, with new louvers on the front quarter panels, retractable side steps, and a set of massive wheels finished in the same color as the body. An Aquarium On Wheels As if the blue paint work wasn’t dramatic enough, sitting in the cabin will make you feel like you’re walking through a tunnel at an aquarium. Almost every single square inch is clad in turquoise-colored leather, including the seats, door panels, dashboard, and steering wheel. The areas not trimmed in leather instead use exposed carbon fiber with blue flakes. The Azure doesn’t feature a normal Mercedes-AMG engine either. The 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 mill has been upgraded with new turbochargers, downpipes, and a custom exhaust. When combined with a tune, the off-roader now delivers 820 hp and 848 lb-ft (1,150 Nm) of torque, meaning it can hit 62 mph (100 km/h) in 4.0 seconds. Whether any of that justifies what will surely be a deep six-figure asking price is between Mansory and the handful of buyers willing to write the check.
