A new NHTSA document suggests the Lincoln Corsair will return for 2027. Model will be built in China and offered with a hybrid engine as well as AWD. Earlier prototype suggested the model will closely echo its Chinese counterpart. Lincoln sales have plummeted following the elimination of the entry-level Corsair, but the bleeding will likely only be temporary. Last March, spy photographers snapped a lightly revised version of the Chinese Corsair. As part of the makeover, the prototype was equipped with a new grille that featured a pronounced mesh pattern as well as an illuminated bar and Lincoln logo. While these changes typically imply a facelift, the prototype was equipped with amber lighting units, hinting it’s bound for America. We’re getting more evidence of that today as Car & Driver unearthed a National Highway Traffic Safety Administration document confirming a 2027 Corsair. It will be built at the company’s Chongqing plant, and offered in Premiere and Reserve trims. The document went on to suggest the crossover will have standard all-wheel drive and a hybrid powertrain with a turbocharged 2.0-liter engine. That’s notable as the Chinese model offers a turbocharged 2.0-liter engine with 255 hp (190 kW / 258 PS) as well as a hybrid option with a turbocharged 1.5-liter four-cylinder. SHProshots Since neither fits the bill, it’s believed the US-spec model could share its powertrain with the larger Nautilus Hybrid. It features a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine and a combined output of 285 hp (213 kW / 289 PS). Little else is known about the 2027 Corsair at this point, but the Chinese model is far fancier than what we used to get stateside. It sports a high-tech interior with a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a 27-inch panoramic display, which consists of an infotainment system and front passenger screen. Other highlights include heated, ventilated, and massaging 24-way power semi-aniline leather front seats as well as heated rear seats that can be reclined up to 12 degrees. It also offers an ambient lighting system and a 14-speaker Revel audio system. Chinese Lincoln Corsair
