Positioned as a flagship model, the D99 will be offered with two powertrain options: an extended-range system and a pure-electric setup, with the top specs including support for a 1000V high-voltage platform. Design On the exterior, the vehicle is equipped with separated headlamp units and multi-million-pixel DLP projection headlights, while the roof integrates a LiDAR. It also reportedly uses dual Qualcomm 8797 chips with 1280 TOPS computing performance, alongside a VLA large model to support advanced driver-assistance functions. At the wheel-arch side profile, Leapmotor highlights a design with pie-shaped wheels. Dimensions are given as 5280/1995/1880 mm (L/W/H), with a 3110 mm wheelbase. The rear features a continuous taillight bar and an ISD interactive light curtain spanning 1498 mm, including 8,260 LED chips. A small spoiler-like shape extends from the roofline. The digital cabin layout includes a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, a 17.3-inch central screen, a 50-inch AR-HUD, a 6-inch multi-function control screen for the second row, and a 21.4-inch 3K entertainment screen designed to adjust electrically from 90° to 110° for different viewing postures. For audio, the D99 is equipped with 23 speakers, including headrest speakers for the driver, and supports Dolby panoramic sound. System output is listed as 2304W maximum. Seating follows a 2+2+3 arrangement. The second-row seats support a 45° rotating “welcome/entry” mode with welcome lighting, while the two zero-gravity aviation-style seats can rotate up to 180° and also enter a 90° scenic-view mode. Heating, ventilation, and massage are included, along with two small folding tables. The third-row backrest can be laid back into a 180° configuration to form a bed-like position, and can also fold 90° to create a lounge/scenic seat setup. Additional comfort equipment includes an 11.4L hot-and-cold box, a panoramic “giant screen” sunroof, and three customizable signature fragrance systems. With a trunk capacity of 706 L, after folding the third row, it can expand to 2890 L. Powertrains: 800V extended range and 1000V pure EV The D99 will be offered in extended-range and pure-electric versions: Extended-range version 1.5T range extender Dual-motor combined power: 300 kW (402 hp) CLTC EV range: 480 km Supports 800V high-voltage platform Pure-electric version CLTC range: 700 km Uses CATL’s NCM-LFP “super-hybrid battery” technology Dual-motor maximum power: 180 kW (241 hp) and 230 kW (308 hp) Supports 1000V high-voltage platform 15-minute charging to replenish energy for 350 km CATL NCM-LFP battery The pure electric version of the D99 uses the same CATL “super-hybrid battery” as the D19 pure electric version. According to the CATL, it blends NCM and LFP in the same battery chemistry system to raise energy density while controlling costs. CATL and Leapmotor had previously announced the technology together, for the first time, it combines lithium iron phosphate and ternary lithium materials within the same battery cell, solving an industry challenge of making these two materials compatible. Leapmotor’s D19 was the first model to adopt it. The interior of Leapmotor D99.
