The Honda Ridgeline got old. The first truck defined a segment, debuting in the early aughts with a new car-derived body that changed how we look at pickup trucks forever. In 2017, the most current generation entered production. That's all come to a close now, with the Ridgeline now looking to be on hiatus pending a new model. While not wholly confirmed yet, it looks like the final quarter of the year will see production come to a close. That will leave the US market without one of its more popular midsize truck offerings for a while as Honda cooks up the replacement. Here, you'll find everything we know about said replacement. What's Coming For The New Ridgeline?2026 Honda RidgelineHondaHonda will stick with the name, but a new ethos will likely drive the truck forward. That should be true aesthetically, with a new look built around the truck's existing platform. We shouldn't see a total revolution in the truck's design, with some familiar aspects sticking around simply due to the physical constraints of the platform.HondaHowever, we are expecting updates to the truck's front and rear fascias, likely to bring them more in line with current Honda products. Take the Pilot, for example. Pictured above, the Pilot gets a much more square look, with a similar grille motif to the current Ridgeline. The lighting signature will likely carry over, too. What Engine Does The New Ridgeline Have?Honda RidgelineHondaHonda should stick with the V6-powered formula, but rather than offering the old one, a wholly new V6 should debut. It's about time – the old unit makes 280 horsepower and isn't great on gas, and both those things are beginning to make it feel outdated. The new unit should make use of the Pilot and Passport V6, which only makes another five horsepower. However, rumor has it that Honda has been developing a new hybrid system for use with the V6. That should significantly boost both power and efficiency. Expect all-wheel drive to re-enter the mix, too. What Else Is New?2026 Honda RidgelinehondaPowertrain aside, the Ridgeline will likely look to continue to build on the reasons buyers love it. For one, like the rest of Honda's lineup, we're expecting to see a refreshed take on the TrailSport version, which debuted in 2024. The TrailSport is the off-road-y one, which adds some all-terrain tires and not much else to the current Ridgeline. That should change, with further ground clearance, aesthetic updates, and greater capability coming to the truck with its new generation – though a TrailSport model may not arrive right away. Finally, expect to see the Ridgeline's most beloved features, like its car-like comfort and in-bed trunk, continue on to the updated generation. Honda should fold in some updated tech and features, too. A price increase is coming, but we'll know more about pricing when the new Ridgeline arrives sometime next year.
