The Passport likely invites some sticker shock for the new model year, but Honda has made a lot of meaningful changes.According to Honda's latest announcement, the 2027 Passport TrailSport is currently rolling out to dealerships around the United States. As such, having confirmed a suite of updates for the new model year, the brand is now releasing pricing for the model range.Honda's 2027 Passport TrailSport arrives with some meaningful differences compared to last year. - Credit: HondaUnsurprisingly, MSRPs are up across the board. However, the increases deserve context; even with the added cost, Honda is aiming for a more compelling value proposition.Increased pricing across the rangeBased on Honda's official pricing, the 2027 Passport lineup carries higher MSRPs than the 2026 model year for all grades. The destination fee is now also $100 dearer, $1,595 instead of $1,495.Even entry TrailSports now get the TrailWatch cam as standard. - Credit: HondaAt lower trim levels, the premium isn't too pronounced. As such, the base RTL starts at $45,195 vs $44,950 for 2026. Likewise, the RTL Towing is up to $45,895 from $45,650. (That's a $245 difference.)However, moving up to the mid-range makes Honda's price hikes more obvious. The TrailSport comes out to $49,995 vs $48,650, while the Blackout takes that even further at $51,495 compared to $49,850. (Increases of $1,345 and $1,645, respectively.)The 1.38-inch lift headlines the suspension changes. - Credit: HondaFor buyers who are willing to spend up for the top-of-the-line Elite and Elite Blackout, the differences work out to be a bit less year to year. Still, as a result of the bumps, Honda's top-of-the-line Passport TrailSport Elite Blackout now runs over $55,000 before options and processing.Honda made meaningful changesWhile the raw price jumps are bound to cause some sticker shock, context matters here. Honda has made some big changes to the Passport for 2027.Honda didn't just swap in a set of taller springs. Nearly 70 percent of the major components are redesigned. - Credit: HondaThis is especially true in the case of the TrailSport. As part of the model-year overhaul, Honda re-engineered nearly 70 percent of the major suspension components, tweaking elements like the front driveshafts and the front subframe to allow for increased ride height and wheel travel. In practice, this means that the TrailSport gains 1.38 inches of additional ground clearance, along with improved breakover, approach and departure angles. Those are meaningful advantages. The TrailSport also gets a heated wheel as standard. - Credit: HondaWhat's more, Honda has given the model some free upgrades for 2027. Though the TrailWatch camera system and heated steering wheel were once exclusive to the Elite, they're now included on entry TrailSports, too. When you consider that the Passport also brings some refreshed styling through more pronounced fender flares, a resculpted lower front fascia and amber hood scoop lights, the updates prove pretty comprehensive.Honda has kept the TrailSport under $50,000 before destination charges, which is respectable given all it boasts for 2027. - Credit: HondaHonda is providing a lot more for the added cost year-to-year compared to, say, what you previously paid for the difference in price for the TrailSport Blackout. It's a bit like an Elite "lite," and it only comes in a few hundred dollars more.Importantly, the TrailSport also notably comes in under Toyota's 2026 price for the 4Runner TRD Off-Road.Availability and pricingPrices for the 2027 Passport RTL start at $45,195, the TrailSport at $49,995 and the TrailSport Elite at $53,695.
