A tubing supplier northwest of Toronto has expanded its footprint in Orangeville, adding floorspace and installing new equipment to supply the next-generation Honda CR-V, expected in nearby Alliston next year.

Sanoh Canada, a unit of Japan auto supplier Sanoh Industrial, recently completed a 15,700-square-foot (1,500-square-metre) addition in Orangeville, the town said in an Oct. 15 release.

The expansion scaled up the floorspace at the plant by more than 15 per cent. The site, which builds brake, fuel and chassis tubing for automakers Honda and Toyota and several Tier 1 suppliers, opened in 1997 and employs about 110.

The added area and equipment will enable Sanoh to produce components for Honda’s upcoming CR-V Hybrid, the Town of Orangeville said.

Production of the seventh-generation CR-V is expected to start in April 2027. Honda builds the model for North America at its campus in Alliston and its East Liberty plant in Ohio.

The expansion at Sanoh Canada is expected to create 10 new jobs.
