group riding just got a massive upgradeThe name Cardo is synonymous with bike-to-bike communication. Creators of the world's first Bluetooth-based wireless intercom headset in 2004, followed by the invention of Dynamic Mesh Communication (DMC) in 2015, Cardo is a global leader in wireless communication systems for powersports riders and outdoor enthusiasts. What started as a manufacturer of Bluetooth earpieces for cell phones, Cardo branched into powersports and grew into a company that sells worldwide in over 100 countries. In 2021, Cardo continued their record of innovation by introducing over-the-air software updates for their latest generation devices, and today, they are announcing the Mesh Boost software update. A free over-the-air expansion for supported second-generation PACKTALK devices, Mesh Boost enhances Cardo's DMC intercom experience with larger groups, easier setup, spontaneous public communication, as well as an upgraded Cardo Connect app experience. The free Mesh Boost update expands Cardo's DMC group experience to support up to 31 riders, adds Public Mesh, and introduces Remote Grouping. Mesh Boost works with supported second-generation DMC devices, including PACKTALK PRO, PACKTALK EDGE, PACKTALK NEO, and other eligible PACKTALK-family devices. The updated second generation devices can still connect to older DMC units; however, they will not be able to enjoy the Mesh Boost features.group riding just got a massive upgradeMesh Boost supports up to an industry-leading 31 riders in a true DMC group, doubling the previous 15-rider limit. DMC remains self-healing and self-adjusting, automatically adapting as riders join, leave, or move in and out of range. DMC automatically adjusts as riders join, leave, or move out of range of the group, and maintains a stable, crystal-clear connection, without the need for manual re-pairing.Public Mesh allows nearby DMC Mesh users to communicate instantly, without the need for creating a private group, sending invitations, pairing, or assigning a group leader. Riders can select Public Mesh in the Cardo Connect App. The result is an experience that feels like simply talking to the rider next to you.Remote Grouping allows riders to set up a group ahead of time, before the ride begins. Riders in the group are sent a link or use a QR code generated within the Cardo Connect App, and once in range, devices automatically connect to the Dynamic Mesh. This allows for more convenient group planning and works better when riders in a group do not start from the same place. The ride for next weekend can be planned today, invitations sent, and that is it. When the ride starts, whenever a group member is in range, they are automatically connected.group riding just got a massive upgradeThe Cardo Connect App now features a fresh new look and an upgraded user experience. The new interface makes it easy to navigate the new Mesh Boost features. The upgraded app allows for new group-management workflows, a dedicated group list, streamlined invitation flows, and a significantly more intuitive approach to creating, joining, and managing conversations. To receive the update, riders simply open the Cardo Connect App, update the app, connect your unit, and install the latest firmware on your unit. Cardo recommends doing the update at home, before the ride, allowing the installation to be completed before heading out.The Mesh Boost update was a long time in development, as Cardo wanted to ensure the robustness of the system. Dan Emodi, Chief Marketing Officer: "While this journey took longer than we originally planned, we made a conscious decision not to compromise on reliability. With larger group capacity, spontaneous Public Mesh, and easier setup through remote pairing, Mesh Boost strengthens our leadership in mesh technology and builds on a decade of innovation since launching the first motorcycle mesh communicator in 2015."group riding just got a massive upgradeWith this latest Mesh Boost update, Cardo retains its position as the leader in powersports communication systems. Industry leading features and continuous innovation combined with a system built on reliability and high quality standards, mean that Cardo products work on every ride, and nobody gets left behind.
